As the doors opened you could hear everyone's breath catch as the bride started down the aisle. I turned just in time to see the groom's eyes well with tears as he realized this was the moment he had been waiting for. The intricate detail on the corset (on the wedding gown) sang an opera of crystals and pearls. Her father stood tall as he escorted his little girl to alter and proudly gave her hand in marriage. The black tuxedo with a purple vest (that made it's guest appearance just in time for the first dance) transformed me to a time when men wore suits with pocket watches and women wore birdcage veils just to go out for a stroll in the park. The wedding was oozing with class and elegance!
When we pulled up to the reception, I started setting my camera when I noticed a blue, purple and black Monarch butterfly flittering from one place to the next. I started snapping photo after photo in hopes of catching her with her wings open and guess what? I did! Butterflies have historically symbolized a new beginning, which I found poetic at that moment and the fact that it was the color of the wedding...magical. As night fell laughter filled the air and children danced to each song the DJ played and the love that radiated from the new bride and groom surely rekindled some old flames and ignited some new ones!
Congratulations to the new bride and groom!
